Call for Abstracts now open!

Researchers and practitioners working in the field of occupational safety and health can now submit abstracts for the International Conference Working on Safety (WOS) 2024 in Dresden which will take place from 22 - 25 September 2024 at the DGUV Congress Centre. The submission deadline for the abstracts is 29 February 2024.

The project “Training risks in Research & Development and production of new and advanced materials and nanomaterials: providing systematic approaches (Nano-Training)” develops guidelines for harmonized training modules targeting workers involved in manufacturing, handling, and processing of nanomaterials and advanced materials (AdMa). INAIL (Italy) coordinates this project in cooperation with other PEROSH member institutes.

The second round of a survey on this topic is now open for participation.

UNESCO Report 2023 Southeast Asia: Can technology solve the most important challenges in education?
Digital technology is rapidly transforming many aspects of society and the economy in Southeast Asia and is beginning to leave its stamp on education. This edition accompanies the 2023 Global Education Monitoring Report (GEM), which acknowledges technology as a useful tool but invites the education community to question on whose terms it is deployed.

ENETOSH Online Event

On 23 November, 42 participants from 24 countries attended this informative and inspiring ENETOSH online seminar as part of the EU-OSHA campaign on digitalisation: healthy-workplaces.osha.europa.eu. Interesting statistics from ESENER and OSH Pulse on the use of educational technology were presented as well as results of a representative study on the digital divide between schools in Germany and its impact on teachers' well-being.

Lester Claravall, Child Labor Officer at the Oklahoma Department of Labor, has been awarded with the NSC Distinguished Service to Safety Award, the highest award given to safety professionals by the Council. Recipients were honored at the Opening Session of the 2023 NSC safety Congress & Expo in New Orleans – the largest annual gathering of safety and health professionals worldwide.

The joint event of OSHAfrica and ENETOSH "Higher education as the key to training the next generation of safety and health professionals in Europe and Africa", moderated by Ehi Iden, OSHAfrica and Dr Ulrike Bollmann, ENETOSH, was held in the scope of the A+A Congress in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 25 October, 2023.
The dialogue between two representatives each of renowned universities from Europe and Africa at the A+A Congress 2023 in Düsseldorf was a success.

This meeting, organized jointly by the ISSA Section Education and Training for Prevention and the European Network Education and Training in Occupational Safety and Health (ENETOSH) took place in the scope of the A+A Congress in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 26 October, 2023. Experts from 8 different countries presented and discussed various aspects of OSH education in schools.

What does safe and healthy cooperation look like in a culturally diverse workplace? The interaction between migration and occupational health and safety will be the focus of the international symposium "Cultural Diversity at Work - Safe and Healthy Integration of Skilled Workers," to be held 27-29 May, 2024, in Dresden (Germany) in a hybrid format.

In a diverse world of work, companies looking for skilled workers are facing the challenge of onboarding employees with a migration background in a safe and healthy way.

Online event

The education sector, in this case schools, are affected by digitalisation in two ways at the same time: Firstly, with regard to their educational mission and secondly, with regard to the digitalisation of teachers' working environment.
This online event will take place on 23 November, 2023, from 09:00 - 11:30.

Our second e-newsletter has been published now, just in time for the International Congress at A+A in Düsseldorf (see below), where ENETOSH is co-hosting a joint workshop with OSHAfrica, a joint networking meeting with the Section Education and Training for Prevention of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), as well as actively participating in a workshop of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).
