Taskforce 4

Raise mainstreaming OSH into education on the policy agenda

Integration into current OSH and education policies at international and national levels is a prerequisite for successful integration of safety and health in education. Integration is successful when it contributes to high quality education in good, healthy places of learning and sustainable prevention.

At the European level ENETOSH works closely together with the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA): https://osha.europa.eu/en and the European social partners in the education sector: the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE): https://www.csee-etuce.org/en/ and the European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE): https://educationemployers.eu/.

On the international political stage, ENETOSH is represented in the Global Coalition for Safety and Health at Work, coordinated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO): https://www.ilo.org/global/topics/safety-and-health-at-work/programmes-projects/WCMS_740999/lang--en/index.htm and a member of the International Section of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on Education and Training for Prevention: https://ww1.issa.int/prevention-education.

At the national level, the working group has set itself the following tasks: (1) identify existing national OSH and education networks and (2) request reports on national OSH and education strategies, e.g., from Croatia and Portugal (see the documents below).

In the future, the Task Group will focus on a more regional approach. It will start with a closer cooperation between ENETOSH and the main stakeholders of the Alps-Adriatic region.

The core members of this working group are: Dr. Vinka Longin Peš, Croatian Health Insurance Fund; Selçuk Yaşar, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Türkiye; Paula Cristina Oliveira de Sousa, Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), Portugal and Dr Ulrike Bollmann, Institute for Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
