The Labour Inspectorate of Kosovo

The legal basis for the establishment and operation of IP is determined by Law no. 2002/9 ​​on the Labor Inspectorate in Kosovo, Law No. 03/L-017 on the Amendment and Supplement to the Law on the Labor Inspectorate 2002/9 ​​as well as Regulation No. 15/2015 on the Internal Organization and Systematization of Workplaces in IP. IP is led by the Chief Inspector of the Labor Inspectorate, who reports directly to the Minister of MFPT for his work and that of the institution he leads.
The Labor Inspectorate oversees the implementation of Labor Law No. 03/L-212 , as well as Law No. 04/L-161 On Safety and Health at Work.
Also, the Labor Inspectorate supervises the implementation of some provisions of some other laws such as: Law no. 04/L-156 on tobacco control, Law no. 04/L-219 for foreigners, Law no. 03/L-200 on strikes, Law no. 03/L-019 for the training, professional retraining and employment of persons with disabilities and Law No. 02/l-81 for the promotion and protection of breastfeeding.
The Labor Inspectorate also oversees the applicability of by-laws arising from these laws and related to the labor relationship as well as safety and health at work.
The determination and imposition of fines for the violation of the provisions of the labor law is sanctioned by Administrative Instruction 01/2011 for the determination and imposition of fines for the violation of the provisions of the labor law, while other laws have the amounts determined depending on the Law.
