The training workshop titled “Developing Strategies for Mainstreaming Safety and Health in Education Systems” was organized by the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH) of the Republic of Türkiye in collaboration with ENETOSH. OIC-OSHNET was established in 2011 and has 56 member countries. DGOSH Türkiye is the permanent secretariat of the Network. DGOSH and the technical coordinator of the Network-SESRIC have organized trainings on a wide range of subjects, expert exchange programs, and capacity-building activities within the framework of OIC-OSHNET for nearly 10 years.

The two-day training aimed to exchange information and share best practices among OIC member countries to raise safety awareness and promote a safety culture by integrating OSH into education. In this light, OSH Expert Aygül GÜREL from DGOSH Türkiye moderated the course and it started with Dr. Ulrike BOLLMANN's presentation. Then, Assistant Professor Frank GULDENMUND from the Safety Science & Security Group of the Delft University of Technology took the floor and presented results from a research project based on the ENETOSH database including good practices for OSH education at the primary and secondary school level. Lastly, within the scope of the first day, Mr. Lorenzo MUNAR from EU-OSHA shared information about musculoskeletal diseases and future generations, one of the priority areas of the ‘Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load’ campaign of the Agency.
