As safety in the workplace is being increasingly discussed in the wake of the initial emergence of COVID-19, this trans-European project opens new ways of communicating health and safety messages so they are as effective and inclusive as possible.
Signed Safety contains a sign vocabulary glossary of essential health-and-safety instructions and warnings, a vocabulary that facilitates effective communication between hearing native speakers, hearing non-native speakers, the Deaf and hearing-impaired in the workplace.
These terms are learnable through the project’s e-Learning course, designed for health and safety officers and all other staff, that will reinforce high standards, maximise recruitment and retention opportunities, and support an inclusive work environment.
