Within the framework of a project organised by Vienna Spar Akademie, a vocational school, and a Viennese labour inspectorate, a booklet on occupational safety and health was compiled with an emphasis on the retail trade. 15 students cooperated with the safety expert, the occupational physician, a safety representative and a representative from the labour inspectorate. After a lecture on occupational safety and health in retailing, the apprentices formed small groups to carry out "inspections" of Spar chain stores. The young people summarised the key items and took photos. The booklet is based on these results and will be used by the young people for lecturing to first-graders of vocational schools to pass on their acquired knowledge about occupational safety and health. Subsequently, the booklet is to be translated into Hungarian for use at a vocational school in Budapest.
