The ‘Materials for Embedded Learning’ were developed in 2005 as part of the Skills for Life Strategy. They are mapped to the Adult Core Curricula and the National Occupational Standards (from which National Vocational Qualifications are derived). They aim to assist learners who are preparing for national qualifications in language, literacy and numeracy in work, college and community settings. This vocational and embedded learning page contains resources for 12 subject areas, ranging from cleaning and retail to skills for construction and entry to employment. In addition, practitioners and managers can find ‘Dyslexia support for embedded learning’ which is a comprehensive guide giving practical ideas and strategies for supporting dyslexic learners in all programmes of learning, including work-based and apprenticeships.
