The prevention motto of the European Commission for 2006 is "SAFE START”.
The "Allgemeine Unfallversicherungsanstalt (AUVA)", the most important institution in social insurance in Austria, organises an international safety competition for apprentices in the construction industry "Building is team-work". This competition is hosted in cooperation with the social partners and supported by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, as well as the international conference "Integration of health and safety at work into vocational education". Both the conference and the competition will take place in Vienna on 23th and 24th October, 2006.

The competition and the conference are supposed to rise awareness for health and safety at the workplace, especially for younger employees.
For commercial success, the state of education is of high importance. In a Europe that is coalescing and extending, international cooperation in health, work safety, work organisation and working standards is becoming more and more important.
